Creative (age 3-4)

The creative class is structured for warm-ups, a basic technique such as ballet feet positions and arms, across the floor, doing leaps, jumps, dance coordination and leadership skills.  This is a way that our little dancers can express themselves and feel free to run, jump and leap, get tired and do it again! A fun, fun, fun class!!!

Combo (age 5-6)

All dancers will receive training in ballet, and jazz to prepare them for Performance Group 1. This class includes the fundamental technique needed to be an amazing dancer. While exploring new movements, this class introduces the dancers to learn new dance terms in a fun and exciting way!

Acrobatics

Acrobatics is combination of tumbling and gymnastics. It consists of floor tricks (cartwheels, round offs, back-bends, etc.) It focuses on building muscle strength and flexibility. This is one of the classes that teaches you how to do a proper split and straddle. This class is compact and fast pace. Even the warm up is intense. Be ready! Open to Combo Level and above.

Hip Hop (Levels 1-3)

Hip Hop is designed to help the dancer loosen up and gain rhythm and have fun in an aerobic style work out. The basic format of this class entails warm up, new steps and choreography. As the class levels increase, the choreography is harder and faster tempo. This is an elective class that should be taken along with a regular technique class.

African Dance

This is a fun class to connect with African culture. You will learn to move your body to the downbeat of a drum. The music and the movement will move your soul and allow you to be free, while having fun.  The class is open to Combo levels and above!

Tap

Tap is one of the oldest forms of dance in this country. Students are taught rhythms, timing and leg/foot coordination done to various types of music and sometimes no music.  As tappers move up in levels, they will learn more intricate combinations and at a faster pace.

The Pointe class is an appointed class at the discretion of the studio director and staff.  Dancers on pointe are taught proper body placement, body alignment, barre, and center floor work, along with across the floor combinations. Once a dancer begins pointe classes, she should push to do at least two classes a week.  Most students are from Performance Group 3 and above.

Performance Groups (Levels 1-3)

All dancers in performing groups will receive training in ballet, jazz, and choreography. Performance groups are based on the dancer's ability to produce skills, understand terminology, and retain choreography. All dancers must go through a placement class to determine the performance group to which they will be assigned. Throughout the season, each dancer in an assigned group strives to execute the skills necessary to move to the next level.  Performance Groups push our students to aspire excellence and to execute at higher levels of performance. Audition Only!
