

Mission & Vision
- To prepare children for a brighter future, building their confidence, creativity as well as physical and mental well-being through the discipline of dance training and performance.​
- To institutionalize administrative operations, community partnerships, and contributed support to benefit underserved children as a priority, as well as students and arts patrons throughout Central Florida.
- To establish a premiere youth Arts Academy that provides advanced training, mentoring, exposure, and diverse performance opportunities for youth who aspire advance studies or professional careers in entertainment or dance education.

Katrina Webster Baker (Founding Artistic Director/Choreographer)
Katrina Webster Baker (Founding Artistic Director/Choreographer)
Ms. Katrina trained in many studios, companies including the prestigious Alvin Ailey and Jacob’s Pillow. She earned her BFA in Dance from the University of Florida, where she founded and for 4 years directed the Gators’s Dazzler Dance Team. For eight years, she was one of the original dancers and line Captain for the Orlando Magic, NBA Team. She was the choreographer for three years for the Orlando Predators. Choreographing for conventions, commercials, events, and her church led her to found Step One Dance studio in 2009. Read more...


Mr. Moe
Moe Fowler started performing at young age in numerous dance showcases as well as theater productions in his community and performing arts school. Professionally trained as a Ballroom dancer and regional youth competitor, he mostly gravitated toward Hip Hop dancing.

Ms. Erin
Erin Howard is a recent graduate of Florida A&M University. She is a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a proven track record in providing exceptional administrative support.

Ms. Naomi
Naomi Frisinger recently graduated from Rollins College with a Music Theatre Degree and a Dance Minor. She is currently trained in various styles of dance, including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre. She also has a big passion for teaching children.Read more...

Mr. Elish'a
Elisha has 12 years of dance experience. He started dancing here in 2019 and premiered as the Black Panther in our "Wakanda Forever: A Dancer's Journey." He is trained in multiple styles of dance, including jazz, contemporary, modern, hip hop, and more. Read more...

Step One: The Dance Project, Inc. located in Eatonville, Florida is a non-profit dance organization with programs funded by generous donations from like-minded members of the community.
We have been established since 2009. Our programs reflect the priority we place on relevance, accessibility and showcasing the spirit of today's youth, whether they are young dancers learning their first steps or advanced dancers following a dream of a professional career.
We accomplish our mission through the discipline of dance training, performing dance groups, annual dance productions, community outreach, and partnering with schools and organizations serving youth.
